The ship keeps time using the traditional naval bell when underway and for major events. This is used to manage the duty roster and aid navigation.
The clock is divided into six period, or watches, each spanning four (4) hours. each Each watch is divided into eight, thirty (30) minute parts.
The crew is alerted to the time by the pattern of the bell ring. Each part adds a ring to the pattern. The bell is rung in groups of two then a pause.
